Today is a very special day for me. My book, Better Living With Whole Foods: The Delicious & Nutritious Guide To Looking Great & Feeling Younger!, is going to print today.
I have been working on this project for quite some time and this is a monumental step towards realizing my goals and dreams.
I am in the process of building a companion website for the book, as well as a fully optimized interactive blog. There will be more interaction, more information, and a more pleasant experience for you and your friends.
Also, I joined Blog Culture today. It’s a blog directory and social networking site. It’s a great place to list your blog in order to build traffic and generate links. Make sure to link up with me if you join. My username is myfitlife.
Peace.

This is a simple credo that, if followed, will catapult you towards success in business and in life:
“Do all the good you can.
By all the means you can.
For all the people you can.
As long as ever you can.”
– John Wesley

I hope you had a great weekend.
Mine was fantastic.
I attended the Health Freedom Expo in Long Beach, CA. It was really good for me.
If you haven’t been to this event, you should make a point of attending. It is held every year in Long Beach and Chicago.
Holistic health is my forte, so I really enjoy being surrounded by the energy contained in these types of events.
It is always interesting to see what the new fad is every year. Last year it was Nikken water systems, Goji juice, and cell phone protection devices.
This year the flavor of the day is water ionization machines and acai berries.
I’ll write more on these subjects on upcoming posts.
The cool thing about this event is the fact that it has a ton of informative seminars held all day long. In fact, at any given time there are as many as four seminars going on at one time. Very interesting and very cool.
This event was very grounding for me this year.
It helped to give me a renewed sense of who I am.
I help people achieve vibrant health through holistic fitness & nutrition. And I’m really good at it.
I was put on this earth to make a positive impact… to clear up the confusion and help people take control of their lives.
Well, enough about me.
I’ll end this by saying that I look forward to making a huge impact in 2008. There are collaborative efforts being made between myself and other individuals that are very exciting for the coming year and beyond.
Have an awesome week.

I hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day. It was an awesome day in Southern California.
Now, it’s the day after…
This is the time of year when thoughts of New Year’s resolutions start to fade away.
How are yours coming along? Are you on a path towards achieving your goals or have you let your aspirations fade away?
I ask these questions because I am a success coach. I help people achieve their goals and want you to achieve yours.
The trick behind goal achievement is keeping motivated, excited, and fully charged about whatever it is you want to accomplish.
Here is a simple tip that will help keep you motivated on a straight line path towards achieving your goals:
Write your goals down and read them every day!
Doing this one simple action will catapult you towards achieving everything that you desire.
Here is what I do when I want to achieve a goal that is important to me.
- Write down the exact goal that you want to acccomplish. Be specific. Don’t say “I want to lose weight.” Say “I want to lose 3 inches in my waist and fit into my red sexy dress by June 15!” It is very important to be specific.
- Backward plan your goal. Imagine it is June 15 and you have achieved your goal. Imagine all of the steps that got you there. Plan backward from June 15 to the present day. Be clear on everything you need to do.
- Write down how acieving your goal will make you feel. How will it benefit your life? Why is it important to you to achieve this goal?
- Read this goal everyday, first thing in the morning, and dedicate yourself to achieving what you desire.
Taking this plan of action can be the difference between happiness and disappointment; the difference between achieving your goals and letting them slip away.
I wish you success and happiness in the coming year.
Have a wonderful day,

The New York giants just won the Super Bowl!
Can you believe it?
This is arguably the greatest Super Bowl upset of all time.
I am not a hardcore football fan, but I am extremely happy that the Giants won.
That being said, there are some key points that you should take away from this:
- Begin with the end in mind
- Have a clear vision of your goals
- Develop a clear plan of action based on your goals
- Assess your progress and update your program on a frequent basis
- Strive for constant improvement, but don’t worry about perfection
- Never give up hope
This Super Bowl upset should set you on fire with enthusiasm towards achieving your goals!
I am going to use the New York Giants as a huge motivating factor towards achieving my goals for the coming year. I am more excited now than I have been in a long time.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions towards achieving your goals.
I wish you the best in everything that you do.

A local slaughterhouse in Chino, CA has been temporarily shutdown due to its horrific practices.
It seems that Westland Beef accepts “downed cows” from all over the U.S.
A downed cow is a cow that has outlived its useful life and can no longer function in the mainstream.
These cows often times cannot walk on their own and have to be prodded, tortured, and moved by forklift.
The practices followed by the owners and employees of Westland Beef is truly alarming.
No animal should be subjected to the cruel punishment that these cows are subjected to.
There are two key points that you have to understand about this situation:
1. Westland Beef is the number one provider of government subsidized beef. Their beef is sold to more schools and senior centers than any other beef in the U.S. This meat is very unhealthy and your children are eating it!
2. These inhumane practices are not isolated to Westland Beef. Animals are tortured and abused in slaughterhouses on a daily basis across the United States.
These practices sicken me to no end.
I became a vegetarian five years ago to make a stand against the horrid practices of the commercial meat industry.
I believe that every time we make a purchase (or not), we are voting with our dollars.
Big business does not care about us or the animals that they torture, but they do care about their bottom line (profits).
I am not saying that you should be a vegetarian, but I am saying that you have to be mindfull of where your food comes from.
If you are a meat eater, eat meat that is raised and slaughtered in an ethical manner.
Doing so will make you an “ethical omnivore”.
Vegetarian, vegan, or ethical omnivore; together we can make a difference.
Feel free to leave a comment, I am interested to learn how you feel about this situation.
Peace,
Alexander Morentin

I went to a raw food festival at The Living Temple in Huntington Beach over the weekend.
It was particularly fun because I had the opprortunity to introduce some people to the raw food and wellness lifestyle.
These people are part of a new meetup group that I formed on meetup.com. The name of the group is Better Living Community. You can find out more about this fantastic group at http://wholefood.meetup.com/155/
Have a great day.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
I want to share a quote with you that is the core of the vision for My Fit Life. It is paraphrased from Mother Teresa:
“It’s not what you do, but how much love you put into what you are doing.”

Self magazine recently named the Women of Orange County the fittest in the nation. According to the magazine Orange County women spend about 1 1/2 hours a week exercising.
The magazine states:
“The O.C.’s yearlong beach season motivates women to exercise an average of 96 minutes a week, compared with 68 minutes in least-fit Huntington, West Virginia. There are 39,000 acres of parks, 150 miles of bike trails and 40 miles of coast.”
We also ranked 3rd in “healthiest Eaters”, 4th in “Least Smoky”, and 6th overall as the “Healthiest” place in the country; down from 4th overall last year.
I am very pleased with this poll because my health and fitness company, My Fit Life, is located in Orange County and I specialize in women.
Note: We are very fortunate in Southern California to have easy access to gyms and healthy eateries.
Congratulations ladies. Bravo!
